With Christmas and New Year on Tuesdays, everyone’s schedule gets just a little chopped up. For many, January 2nd is the first day back from about 10 days out. Days filled with family, friends, food, and generally good times. But now it’s back to the grind.
Of course, that’s only if you consider it a grind. If you do, you might want to think about how you plan to spend this year.
Do you want to grind it out all year, or do you want to challenge yourself to do something different? Do you want to learn and grow, or do you want to get through the year?
Back at work, there will be the usual catching up, how was everyone’s holiday, etc. Re-building those connections with your coworkers and your team. But are you connected to yourself? Do you know what you want out of this year, work-wise?
I encourage you this year to pick one thing you want to be recognized for, one aspect of your work that you know you can perform in a way that will stand out from others, and just go and kill it. Do it the best you can, each and every day. And then the next day, go do it better! Continuous Improvement, Continuous Learning, Continuous Growth. It’s all up to you. Remember, Every Day Is Training Day.
